Our story begins with the pioneers, A.Balu and A.Seenu, Founder of Kalai magazine in 1958. They were fondly known as ‘Balu Brothers’. They started their career as Art Directors in cinemas, worked with AVM Productions movies of MGR, Sivaji and many other popular films.
Balu Brothers owned Balu Art Printers and Balu Bros Publication. They carved their niche in the enchanting world of cinema starting from AVM Production logo design to specialized in the intricate craft of temple wall paintings and magazine covers. Their passion for visual storytelling laid the foundation for what would become a rich tradition in the world of art.
As the baton passed to the 2nd generation, through Artist Kaliyaperumal Pillai , the art focus shifted to the acrylic and oil painting. Inspired by the intricate details and spiritual significance of these traditional art forms, they dedicated themselves to preserving and reviving the cultural heritage embedded in every stroke of the brush.
The 3rd generation Artist Shanmugam Pillai embraced the timeless elegance of Tanjore painting, a craft that seamlessly weaves spirituality into art. With meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to preserving heritage, they elevated Tanjore painting to new heights, becoming custodians of a cherished tradition.
Now, the 4th generation Ms.Nandhini, MBA Gold medalist and Ms.Abirami, Graphic Designer steps into the limelight, blending tradition with a modern touch. Their artistic vision transcends boundaries, infusing contemporary elements into the rich tapestry of Sri Mudhra Arts. As they explore new mediums and push artistic boundaries, the legacy continues to evolve, reflecting the dynamic nature of art across generations.
